sharp specialty coffee

no, not hashtag coffee

Koreatown is teeming with cafés, each one more Instagrammable than the next, and yet every single one of them seems to be full. Sharp Specialty Coffee is one that has stuck around long enough to be an established place a neighborhood where some café spots change by the season. The cafe is spacious, clean and has a bunch of seating, from bar seating by the windows to communal tables for people (let’s be honest, students) to spread out.

Inside, it’s sleek and minimal, with high ceilings, industrial accents, and ample light from the front windows. With fun specialty coffee drinks (they brew Sightglass here), tea options and plenty of pastries, it’s an easy choice for the ever present stream of students who park up on the weekends. It’s trendy but not in a standoffish way. The kind of place you can roll up with your backpack, order a cold brew, open up your laptop and get comfy. We’ll file this under “trusty go-to study cafe.”

good to know

Go here for: coffee & “studying”

Order this: whatever your go to drink is, or if you’re craving something sweet, maybe one of their specialty drinks

Amount of time to spend: perfect for grab and go, or for sticking around for a few hours

When to come: any time is a good time, given the clientele, it’s always going to be decently full, though mornings are a little slower

Parking: is not great, given it’s in Koreatown. There’s metered parking if you’re lucky, otherwise there is a garage adjacent.

Other things to note:

  • There’s free and reliable wifi, power outlets, and ample seating, so it meets the K-town standards for a solid study cafe.
