In late 2019, the masterminds of Here’s Looking At You gifted an already scrumptious strip of Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake with an all day diner concept. All Day Baby manages to simultaneously ooze LA cool with diner nostalgia. This place looks like if Bon Appétit (pre-scandal) designed a next gen diner and added in an extra serving of California sunshine. Bold reds and blues and aquas come together for a bright and inviting space that ambitiously aims to fulfill many neighborhood roles as a breakfast joint, café and bakery, diner and bar.
Comfort is the only thing that ties it all together, with an innovative menu that takes cues from diner traditions but then makes it nearly unrecognizably trendy with a flair that one would only expect from this highly creative team. From smoked meats to colorful conchas to decadent pies to hard milkshakes with McDonnell’s ice cream, not to mention colorful cocktails, All Day Baby is what Silver Lake (and truly, every other neighborhood in this city) deserves.
Go here for: breakfast, weekday brunch, a brunchy lunch, an afternoon snack, a linner, anything in between
Order this: anything with biscuits, the hot cake, anything from the smoker, a milkshake, a giant cinnamon roll with labneh frosting
Amount of time to spend: great for a quick and casual meal (anywhere from 30 min to a couple hours)
When to come: any time throughout the day (that’s the point, any time is a good time)
Parking: can be a hit or miss, generally weekdays and mornings you’ll be able to find a meter on Sunset, otherwise try Descanso or Larissa for free street parking but watch out for street cleaning hours
