café réveille

an easy favorite for food and coffee

A quick scroll through Café Réveille’s Instagram page tells you everything you need to know about this coffee shop and the lifestyle they are selling. A tightly curated brand aesthetic masquerading as a breezy street cool coffee shop. A step into one of the cafés tells you that this is a cooler café in a city full of caffeine-driven establishments. It’s more of a food-forward all day place. They serve everything you’d expect, everything you’d want. A mean breakfast sandwich, a decent breakfast burrito, smoothie bowls, grain bowls, salads and sandwiches, a bountiful menu of what can only be described as Californian fare to power any time of the day. Plus an extensive menu of coffees and juices to round out a “working” lunch.

Whether you’re looking for a quick pick me up or a casual sit down meal, Café Réveille is a solid choice any time of day. And a great place to people watch.

good to know

Go here for: a quick and satisfying breakfast or lunch, or a weekend brunch

Order this: something bright and colorful, can’t really go wrong with any of the salads or bowls

Amount of time to spend: about an hour, it gets pretty busy so not great for longer stays

When to come: early in the morning or later in the afternoon, avoid the mid day rush

Getting here:

  • Lower Haight: a short walk from the Duboce & Church muni station
  • Russian Hill: best accessed by bus (12, 27) via Van Ness
  • Mission Bay: just around the corner from the Mission Rock station
  • Berkeley: a few minutes walk from the Berkeley Amtrack station

Other things to note:

  • This is more of a food cafe than a work cafe since it’s quite busy, though they do have free wifi.
  • They don’t take reservations, walk ins only.
