cafe fiore

the kind of place that makes you wish it were your neighborhood cafe

Working theory: the constant cold wet weather of Seattle causes a constant craving for coffee. And so Seattle is a coffee town. Ok probably not causation, but still, there’s something about that rainy foggy outside that makes ducking into a warm cozy cafe ever more satisfying. Cafe Fiore is just that. A homey, cozy local coffee shop, warmly lit, simply furnished, filled with the kitschy charms of mismatched chairs and handwritten signs reminiscent small hometown businesses. I mean, you know it’s a green flag when there is a tiny altar to Keanu on the coffee bar.

Cozy ambiance aside, the coffee is, as one would expect, very good. They serve local coffee roaster Caffe Vita and pull an excellent espresso. With indoor and outdoor seating, whether you’re curled up with a book or plugged in for a working session or ducking in to warm up from a walk by Kerry Park, it’s the kind of place that makes you instantly go from feeling like a tourist to feeling like a local.
