midori matcha

specialty matcha drinks & sweets

The people of Los Angeles know that matcha is more than a trend. Maybe it’s because it has successfully pervaded everything from cafes to foods to grocery stores. Or maybe it’s the general love for Japanese culture and thriving Japanese American community and increasing Japanese influence in the food scene in this city. To many, matcha is an acquired to taste. But Angelenos have long acquired the taste and matcha specialty shops are no stranger to the city.

Midori Matcha is a modern matcha cafe in Little Tokyo. They specialize in organic matcha drinks (both classics and some more creative drinks like matcha mimosa) and Asian flavored desserts, especially soft serve ice cream (which they sometimes swirl with houjicha or sesame or ube). Not to mention they also carry matcha flavored patisserie from Pitchoun. It’s the perfect place to stop by for a midday treat and satisfy that matcha craving.
