// LOS ANGELES // NORTH HOLLYWOOD //
your favorite film school student’s favorite spot
For the rest of us, there’s Pie Hole. But for the NoHo crowd, there’s Republic of Pie. Which is a bit of an institution in the starving actor / aspiring screenwriter way that Pie Hole could never be.
For one, the space is deceivingly large. Full of tables and chairs and couches and laptops. It embraces that neighborhood, community aesthetic, a little mismatched, but in a friendly way. On the walls, artwork from local artists. In the evenings, music from local musicians. But we’re here for the pie, and the pie does not disappoint. Sweet, savory, and a slew of caffeinated selections to match. And if their generous selection of pies aren’t enough (probably because people park here all day), they also have a full menu of breakfast and lunch options.
But idk, if you feed me enough of their espresso almond chocolate pie, I might be inspired to spit out a screenplay too.

Go here for: getting work done without worrying about getting too hungry to get work done
Order this: I’m a sucker for an earl grey pie and theirs hits the spot
Amount of time to spend: half and hour or half the day, the choice is yours
When to come: it tends to get extremely packed during the weekends, so weekdays are better.
Parking: is not fun, if you can’t find a meter, try your luck in the residential streets nearby.
