Lately is firmly in the genre of Californian all day eatery. With cooler-than-you aesthetics, a menu of bright and sunny breakfast-y and lunchy-options and design-forward branding with personality, it’s no wonder this has become a darling eatery in the increasingly popular Chinatown neighborhood. Since opening in 2018, Lately has built up a local neighborhood fanbase.
Part cafe, part restaurant, Lately serves up a range of distinctly Californian bites (think: burritos, toasts, rice bowls, sandwiches) that span Southeast Asian, Italian American and Cali-Mex flavors. During the day, the minimalist and sunny space is filled with people who are “working” or at least come with the intention of working, with a side of coffee and light meals.
2021 Update: Lately is temporarily closed and will likely reopen with a new concept according to their Instagram.
