// LOS ANGELES // ARTS DISTRICT //
pretty much all the coffee table books you can dream of
Let’s be real, coffee table books deserve their own bookstore. They’re an entirely different genre of book. Beautiful. Heavy. Style and substance in one cultured package. So for anyone who is a lover of coffee table books and anyone who appreciates a good museum gift shop, Hennessey + Ingalls is a dream. Specializing in books on art and architecture and design, Hennessey + Ingalls has had a longtime established presence in the art scene since its founding in 1963. The family-owned bookstore started in Santa Monica before making the dramatic move to Arts District in 2016.
Today, their brick and mortar shop continues to be a destination for art lovers around Southern California. But their presence extends beyond the physical store too: their website is shoppable and always updated with the latest publications, and they supply many design firms, museums and academic institutions across the country. Whether you’re just casually perusing to see what’s new or here to look for something very specific, Hennessey + Ingalls is a must-stop.
