Maison Dandoy is an institution in Belgium. Well-known and respected enough to be at the top of any tourist’s Google search. Historic enough to be legitimate. Established in 1829, Maison Dandoy began as a humble baker-owned shop passed down generation after generation to the current 7th generation family owners and growing to be a celebrated enterprise with locations all around Brussels (and one in Antwerp).
They’re known most for speculoos, a traditional Belgian recipe that has been passed down the family line, but they also have a wide assortment of biscuits, gingerbreads, cakes (financiers and madeleines) and marzipans. The dine in menus at the boutiques feature a variety of drinks (hot and cold, alcoholic and caffeinated), waffles (crispy Brussels waffles and decadent liege waffles), and ice cream to round out a sweet “meal” of confectionaries. Come with a sweet tooth, leave happy.
