A mediocre pie after a hearty meal can feel like a daunting dessert. But a good pie, a really good one, is worth skipping the main course entirely and structuring your entire meal around the pie. And that’s the kind of pie Bang Bang Pies & Biscuits specializes in.
Granted, as the name implies, they do serve more than pie. You could very well make a banging good meal that covers the sweet and the savory all in one place. The menu is loaded with comfort food classics from pot pies to savory biscuits to grits. On any given day they have a 5-6 pie flavors, which change seasonally to feature the best ingredients, and they generally offer a good variety each day from cream pies to chess pies to fruit pies.
Bang Bang is the kind of place that is relevant all year round. In the summers, it’s nice to hang out in the patio for a leisurely lunch. In the winters, it fulfills that stick-to-your-ribs comfort food craving in a delightfully casual way.
Note: They are currently offering take out and outdoor patio dining only at the Logan Square shop. The Ravenswood shop is closed.
