Every once in a while you stumble upon a place that has it all. The ambience. The menu. The pastry case. The curated shelves full of pretty things. The fresh cut blossoms. The London Plane is such a place. Equal parts market, flower shop, restaurant, cafe, bakery, all under one lofted roof.
Let’s start with the market. You know the deal: it’s like a localized, third wave William Sonoma type, and a generous wine selection as an added bonus. Coffee table books line the shelves, and earth toned glassware and ceramics cover one wall from floor to ceiling. The shop is flower forward, from fresh blooms to dried bouquets, it’s the life of the space and the heart of the business. The cafe and bakery counter make for a perfect takeaway option that could be enjoyed outside. Inside, the bar and dining area make for a casual but elegantly decorated space for a sit down meal. The menu is heavy on brunchy comforts, featuring farm fresh ingredients from local partners proudly listed on the menu itself. So come for brunch, and stick around to shop for a bit. Or vice versa. You can’t go wrong either way.
