Leo epitomizes the (north) Brooklyn trendy restaurant in a way that a Manhattan restaurant could never. It’s a neighborhood favorite. A reliable spot for an unplanned weeknight dinner, but also cute enough to bring out of town friends when you’re looking to avoid the chaos of Manhattan restaurants or even Bedford on a Saturday night. It’s not the kind of place that appears on many hit lists, but it does have a bit of a cult following among those who live in the neighborhood.
Leo knows its place and does it well. Sourdough goods and natural wines. Bagels in the morning, pizza by night. A well curated wine list. Soft serve or tiramisu for dessert. Laid back atmosphere, spacious for city standards, with enough tables packed in to feel cozy. Plus a take away cafe bakery next door for when you want an upgraded bagel or breakfast sandwich on a weekend morning.
