griddle cakes of weho fame
In the grand scope of LA’s restaurant scene, Salt’s Cure is a well-established name that has persisted through several waves of newcomers. The original West Hollywood restaurant first opened in 2010, followed by this breakfast concept in 2017. Given the neighborhood’s competitive brunch game, Breakfast by Salt’s Cure is remarkably simple, unfussy, focused. The ambience is laid back and the menu is short. It’s quality over quantity, they perfected their signature dishes and simplified our choices so that even the most tired or hungover can easily order.
This breakfast joint is best known for their famous oatmeal griddle cakes, made with oats and buttermilk and topped with dollops of whipped salted butter. They come in a few different flavors, and can be ordered by the stack or individual cakes so that you can modularly build your own ideal breakfast with the a la carte sides of eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes and more. Over the years, it’s only gained popularity and weekend morning queues (particularly in New York) make it a bit more of a scene than it perhaps was meant to be, but so long as the griddle cakes stay consistent, Breakfast by Salt’s Cure will always be an excellent choice for breakfast (or lunch).
