Vegans (and the lactose intolerant) deserve ice cream too. Sorbet and granitas, while delicious and refreshing, just don’t quite cut it. Sometimes you just need the decadent and rich creaminess of ice cream that doesn’t taste like a compromise. Enter Frankie & Jo’s. Ice cream that looks and tastes so good, you’ll forget it’s plant-based. Well worth stopping by regardless of your lactose or gluten tolerance.
Truthfully the most impressive part of this entire project is that they’ve been at it since 2015, early days in the renaissance of plant-based foods we are currently in. They’re committed to the mission as a certified B-corp championing sustainable indulgence, spreading the joy of ice cream in a dairy, refined sugar, soy and preservative-free way. Aesthetically, it feels optimized for Instagram feeds of 2015, but the product itself remains as relevant as ever and the creative seasonal flavors make it worth repeat visits any time you’re in town.
