LA cha cha chá

a CDMX gift to DTLA

There’s no shortage of good Mexican food in LA, and ample restaurants with quality outdoor dining space. But there’s still a bit of a thrill when you find yourself eating excellent Mexican food on a beautiful terrace. This Mexico City import is a solid addition to the Arts District restaurant scene, taking over a sprawling terrace at the intersection of 3rd St and Traction Ave with a seamless indoor-outdoor set up.

Cha Cha Chá’s menu is contemporary Mexican food, with snacky appetizers featuring seasonal ingredients and decadent family-style mains served with fresh blue corn tortillas. It’s a curated menu, but covers a lot of ground from vegetarian dishes to meat and seafood, showcasing a breadth of culinary tradition all plated with finesse. The drinks menu is worthy of a rooftop bar, with creative craft cocktails as well as Mexican beer and wine. And the space is the perfect atmosphere for anything, a laid back brunch, day drinking, golden hour drinks and bites, or a moody dinner. A taste of Mexico City combined with the breezy LA culture makes for an ideal spot to keep on rotation for downtown meals.
