// NEW YORK CITY // WEST VILLAGE //
a simple italian cafe in the heart of the west village
In a plethora of hyped cafes in the West Village, it’s notable when you find one that doesn’t feel like a scene. The Coppola Cafe feels like a neighborhood spot in a small town, where locals are regulars, coming in for a coffee and a bite, with Italian sensibility that fits quite well into the flow of the quiet block just steps from the urban chaos of 6th Ave.
The Coppola Cafe doesn’t try to be fancier than it needs to be. From the first step in it feels homey, familiar. The handwritten menu covers all the classic coffee iterations, plus tea to round it out. The pastry case is stacked with fresh baked goods, plus paninis, bagels and croissant sandwiches for an easy breakfast or lunch. On a sunny day, the windows let in the light and the awning over the seats on the sidewalk make for wonderful people watching. On a rainy day, the cafe is a cozy haven. A place that compels you to sit down and savor the coffee, amid the to-go cup culture of the city.
